5th Annual Prayer Service for Non-Violence

The Black deacons of the Chicago Archdiocese are organizing the 5th annual Sunrise Prayer Service for Non-Violence at 6 a.m. Saturday, August 30, at Oakwood Beach, 41st Street and Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. The prayer service will begin with praise and worship at 6:30 a.m. and Mass at 7 a.m.

Deacons should vest in alb and stole for the Mass. There will be a choir and musicians.  Deacons are asked to RSVP by email to Deacon Roscoe Dixon at ddeaconone@sbcglobal.net.

The Executive Committee of the Diaconate Council consists of Deacons Chuck McFarland, vice chairman, left; Dennis Robak, treasurer; George Kashmar, chairman; Bill Stearns, immediate past chairman; and John Gaughan, secretary. Also serving on the committee are Deacon Richard Hudzik, Vicar for Deacons; Fr. Michael Ahlstrom, Vicar Emeritus; and Deacon Dave Brencic, associate director.

Death of Mary Kulleck

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Kulleck, wife of Deacon Richard Kulleck, class of 2001. Mary died Wednesday, Aug. 20, after a long illness.

A vigil service is planned at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Meridian, Idaho for Sunday evening with the funeral Mass to be celebrated Monday, Aug. 25. May her soul and all the faithful departed rest in peace.

 

 

Death of Deacon Daniel Dietsch

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden death of Deacon Daniel Dietsch, class of 2007. Deacon Dietsch, 62, died on Friday, August 15, 2014.

Memorials may be directed to Zacchaeus House. Condolences can be sent to the Dietsch family at: 17704 Dixie Highway, Homewood, IL 60430

Please pray for Deacon Dietsch, his wife Thelma and their family and friends. May the soul of Deacon Dietsch and all the faithful departed rest in peace.
