St. Lawrence Day Festival of Ordination

The entire Diaconate Community is invited to celebrate the annual St. Lawrence Day Festival of Ordination Sunday, Aug. 10, at St. Mary of the Lake Church, 4200 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago.

Mass will be at 3 p.m.  in Church followed by an ethnic meal in the parish hall. The Class of 1974 will be celebrating its 40th anniversary of ordination, while the Class of 1989 will be honored for 25 years of Diaconal ministry.

Please bring a dessert to share. RSVP by July 31 by calling the Diaconate Office at (708) 366-8900 or email rhudzik@archchicago.org.

 

Widows' and Widowers' luncheon

    All widows and widowers of the Diaconate Community are invited to the annual summer luncheons. The luncheons are an opportunity to reconnect with members of our community, the Office of the Diaconate and our Vicars Emeritus, Father Edward Salmon and Father Michael Ahlstrom.
    Two luncheons will be held – one north and one south – to make traveling easier.

    North luncheon: noon, Wednesday, July 23, at White Eagle Banquets and Restaurant, 6839 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles
    South luncheon: noon, Wednesday, July 30, at the Landmark, 6800 S. Archer Road, Bedford Park

    In the case where you are having someone drive you to the luncheon, they too are invited to join us. We ask that you RSVP by calling the Office of the Diaconate, (708) 366-8900, by Monday, July 14.

Death of Deacon Kevin Reynolds

It is with great sorrow that we announce that Deacon Kevin Reynolds, class of 2003died on Wednesday, July 2, after a long battle with cancer.
