This is the Diaconate Council’s only fundraiser. Money that is donated will go to the Diaconate Council’s various charities, which include:

Emmaus Ministries – a ministry that does outreach to men seeking to escape prostitution on the streets of Chicago. 

Faith & Fellowship – a ministry that supports those who suffer from mental illness, and their families.

Friends of the Orphans – orphanages in Latin America that support displaced, and abandoned children.

Hope’s on the Way – a faith-based volunteer group of second responders.  They bring hands-on repair and construction to those people in need from disasters.

Zacchaeus House – a non-treatment home for men who are homeless.  Zacchaeus House provides a safe, supporting home for men in a transitional status.

Educational Fund assistance for Deacons and their families – grants for deacons and wives who continue with education, as well as scholarship funds for children of deceased deacons.

Women @ the Well – a ecumenical team of women who minister to incarcerated women at the Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln, IL The group sponsors two-day retreats twice a year.

Kolbe House – an agency of the Department of Parish Vitality and Mission of the Archdiocese of Chicago, which ministers to men, women and juveniles in the criminal justice system in Cook and Lake counties, along with their families and victims.

Mutual Aid Fund – aid for deacons and wives who need financial assistance.

Underwriting expenses for the Black Deacons’ Annual Sunrise Mass for Peace, as well as assistance to the Hispanic Deacons Association and the Office of the Diaconate.

Financial support of Diaconate Community Events (Convocation, Symposium, St. Lawrence Day, etc.)
