Joint Symposium

Traits of Healthy Spirituality Retreat

The retreat scheduled for April 19-21, 2024 is NOW Open To All deacons and deacons & wives. This the last English retreat of the fiscal year. We currently have openings available. Register immediately to reserve your space!

The Retreat Leader is Fr. Bill Zavaski. Fr. Bill was born in Waukegan. He attended St. Bartholomew School, Waukegan; Quigley Preparatory Seminary, Niles College of Loyola University, and the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary. He was associate pastor of St. James, Arlington Heights (1969-1976); and St. Zachary, Des Plaines (1976-1979). He was pastor of St. Bartholomew, Waukegan (1979-1990); Transfiguration, Wauconda (1990-1995); and St. James, Arlington Heights (1995-2014), where he is now pastor emeritus. He also was dean for Lake County (1985-1995) and for the northwest suburbs (1998-2012). Fr. Bill's retreats are always well attended and well received. Space is limited!

"TRAITS OF HEALTHY SPIRITUALITY" will explore the traits a solid spirituality that we all need to work on daily. Topics that will be discussed during this retreat will include: self-esteem, friendship, courage, perseverance, prayer and gratitude. There will be a series of short presentations followed by time for reflection and sharing.

DEATH ANNOUNCEMENTS

We are saddened to announce the death of retired Deacon Tony Valdez, class of 2014. Deacon Tony Valdez passed on Sunday, April 7th, 2024. We will communicate the funeral arrangements once they have been determined. "Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, let the perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace." Please keep Deacon Tony's family and friends in your prayers.
