Every member of the diaconate community is encouraged to have a spiritual director they meet with regularly, typically once a month (PDF).
This is how we maintain ourselves to be spiritually healthy. Our deacons and wives deserve to be at their spiritual best — the people they serve deserve them at their best, too. The Office of the Diaconate maintains a list of spiritual directors willing to serve deacons and their wives. You can email or call us if you would like us to further discuss spiritual directors.
Please know the directors on this list will not be able to be all things to all people. There might be a great match for you here. There might also be a poor match between who you are, where you are on your journey, and who the director is. At the beginning session with a new director, you are encouraged to together assess whether this match of director and directee will be fruitful. You should also ask what the stipend for their service will be.
If you are not currently seeing a spiritual director, we encourage you to. Look at the list here and see if there is someone who might help you in your walk with the Lord. The next step is up to you.
